Trim component removes white-space characters at the beginning and end of a specified string.
Trim component exposes the Control In, Control Out, Data In, and Data Out ports by default.
|ControlIn||Must be connected to the Control Out port of one or more components..|
|ControlOut||Can be connected to the Control In port of another component or the default end component.|
|Data In||Specifies the text from which white-space characters, at the start and end of the text, are to be removed (string).|
|Data Out||Returns the text after removing the white-space characters (object).|
To edit the properties of the
Trim component, in the
Properties window, change the required property. You can edit the following properties.
|Search||for the respective property.|
|Delay After Execution||Specifies the wait time (in seconds) after the action is performed.|
|Delay Before Execution||Specifies the wait time (in seconds) before the action is performed.|
Let us consider an example.
To remove the white-space characters at the ends of a string:
In the Toolbox, expand
Utilitiesand then expand
Trimcomponent and drop it on the Design surface.
Textbox and enter the required string.
To override the existing data source, right-click the
Overrideand change the data source.

Showcomponent and drop it on the Design surface.
Connect the control ports and data ports in the activity.
In the toolbar, click
The white-space characters at the start and end of the specified string are removed.
