Trim

The Trim component removes transparent pixels from the borders of an image.

Ports

The Trim component exposes the Control In, Control Out, Data In, and Data Out ports by default.

Port Description
ControlIn Must be connected to the Control Out port of one or more components.
ControlOut Can be connected to the Control In port of another component or the default end component.
Data In Specifies the image to trim.
Data Out Returns the trimmed image.

Properties

To edit the properties of the Trim component, in the Properties window, change the required property. You can edit the following properties.

Property Description
Search Search for the respective property.
Delay After Execution Specifies the wait time (in seconds) after the action is performed.
Delay Before Execution Specifies the wait time (in seconds) before the action is performed.

To convert a string into an image:

Instead of using a Read from File component to retrieve the image to trim, you can use the Get Image option in the Action Set component as illustrated in the following figure. Screenshot

To trim an image:

  1. In the Toolbox, expand Utilities and then expand Image Utilities.
  2. To retrieve the image to trim:

    • Drag the ReadFromFile component and drop it on the Design surface
    • Double-click the filePath box and enter the required path.

  3. Drag the Trim component and drop it on the Design surface.

  4. To override the existing data source, right-click the image box.
  5. Click Override and change the data source.

  6. To save the converted image:

    • Drag the Save component and drop it on the Design surface.
    • Double-click the filePath box and specify the path, including a file name and type.

  7. Connect the control ports and data ports in the activity.

  8. In the toolbar, click Run.
    The image is trimmed and saved to the specified location.
