GetPart

The GetPart component crops an image and retrieves the specified part of the image.

Ports

The GetPart component exposes the Control In, Control Out, Data In, and Data Out ports by default.

Port Description
ControlIn Must be connected to the Control Out port of one or more components.
ControlOut Can be connected to the Control In port of another component or the default end component.
Data In The GetPart component exposes the following Data In ports by default:
image: specifies the image to crop (bitmap).
Left: specifies the pixels to crop from the left side of the image (int 32).
Top: specifies the pixels to crop from the top of the image (int 32).
width: specifies the width (in pixels) of the retrieved part of the image (int 32).
height: specifies the height (in pixels) of the retrieved part of the image (int 32).
Data Out Returns the specified part of the original image (bitmap).

Properties

To edit the properties of the GetPart component, in the Properties window, change the required property. You can edit the following properties.

Property Description
Search Search for the respective property.
Delay After Execution Specifies the wait time (in seconds) after the action is performed.
Delay Before Execution Specifies the wait time (in seconds) before the action is performed.

Example

Let us consider an example

To retrieve the image:

  1. In the Toolbox, expand Utilities and then expand Image Utilities.
  2. To specify the image to crop:
    a. Drag the ReadFromFile component and drop it on the Design surface.
    b. Double-click the filePath box and enter the location of the image.

    Note

    To learn more about the Read From File component, refer the Read from File section.

  3. Drag the GetPart component and drop it on the Design surface.

  4. Double-click:
    a. The Left box and enter the number of pixels to crop, if required.
    b. The Top box and enter the number of pixels to crop, if required.
    c. The width box and enter the required width.
    d. The height box and enter the required height.

    Note

    You can override the existing data source for the image, Left, Top, width, and height Data In ports.
    To override the existing data source:

    • Right-click the required Data In port.
    • Click Override and change the data source.

  5. To save the retrieved part of the image:
    a. Drag the Save component and drop it on the Design surface.
    b. Double-click the filePath box and enter the required path, including the file name and type.

  6. Connect the control ports and data ports in the activity.

  7. In the toolbar, click Run.
    The image is cropped as specified and the retrieved part of the image is saved.
