ReadFromExcel

The ReadFromExcel component reads data from an Excel file.

Ports

The ReadFromExcel component exposes the Control In, Control Out, Data In, and Data Out ports by default.

Port Description
ControlIn Must be connected to the Control Out port of one or more components.
ControlOut Can be connected to the Control In port of another component or the default end component.
Data In The ReadFromExcel component exposes the following Data In (string) ports:
FilePath: specifies the location of the Excel file.
SheetName: specifies the worksheet that contains the data to read.
Data Out Returns the data count (Int32) from the Excel file.
Data Out Returns the DataTable from the Excel file.

Properties

To edit the properties of the ReadFromExcel component, in the lower-right pane, change the required property. You can edit the following properties.

Property Description
Search Search for the respective property.
Delay After Execution Specifies the wait time (in seconds) after the action is performed.
Delay Before Execution Specifies the wait time (in seconds) before the action is performed.

To read an Excel file

  1. In the Toolbox, expand Utilities and then expand Data Reader.
  2. Drag the ReadFromExcel component and drop it on the Design surface.
  3. To specify the file location, double-click the FilePath box and enter the required file path.
  4. To override the existing data source, right-click FilePath.
  5. Click Override and change the data source.

  6. To specify the worksheet to read, double-click the WorkSheet box and enter the required worksheet name.

  7. In the Toolbox, expand Utilities and then expand Data Writer.
  8. Drag the WriteToCSV component and drop it on the Design surface.
  9. To specify the file location, double-click FilePath and enter the location of the file.
  10. To override the existing data source, right-click FilePath.
  11. Select Override and change the data source.

  12. Connect all the control ports in the activity.

  13. In the toolbar, click Run.
    Intellibot reads the data from the specified Excel file and writes the data to the specified destination.
