Terminate

The Terminate component enables users abort a process or a workflow. Using this component, users can choose to end a workflow if the desired condition is met.

Ports

The Terminate component exposes the Control In port.

Port Description
Control In Must be connected to the Control Out port of one or more components.

Properties

To edit the properties of the Terminate component, in the lower-right pane, change the required property. Users can edit the following properties.

Property Description
Search Must be connected to the Control Out port of one or more components.
Delay After Execution Can be connected to the Control In port of another component, or the default end component.
Delay Before Execution Specifies the text to be entered in a particular application (String).
Enable Timeout Allows users to enable timeout for the component
Timeout Allows users to define a timeout for the component

Example

Consider an example of terminating a process if a value is not matched.

To use the Terminate component.

Add a Variable to pass the Value.

  1. To add the Variable component
    • In the Toolbox, expand General.
    • Drag the Variable component and drop it on the design surface.
  2. Now lets add a Decision component to provide a decision string.
    • In the Toolbox, expand Condition.
    • Drag the Decision component and drop it on the design surface.
  3. Users need to add a MessageBox Show component.
    • Expand the MessageBox Show component, drag Show component and drop it on design surface.
  4. To add the Terminate component to abort the process if the given value is not matched.

    • Drag the Terminate component and drop it on the design surface.

    Note

    To edit the properties of the terminate component, in the lower-right pane, change the required property. Users can edit the following properties-

  5. Connect:

    • The control ports of all components.
    • The Control out ports of the MessageBox component to the Control In ports of the terminate component.
  6. In the toolbar, click Run.

    If the Value does not match, the MessageBox with failure message is displayed.

  7. Click OK.
    The process will be terminated.
