Message Box

The MessageBox component enables the user to display text on the screen using a message box. Using this component, the user can display success or failure messages, or any other content on the screen in a message box.

Ports

The MessageBox component exposes Control In, Control Out, and the Data In ports by default.

Port Description
Control In Must be connected to the Control Out port of one or more components.
Control Out Must be connected to the Control In port of any other component.
Data In Must be connected to the Data Out port of another component from where data is to be collected.

Properties

To edit the properties of the Messagebox component, in the lower-right pane, change the required property. The user can edit the following properties.

Property Description
Search Search for the respective property.
Delay After Execution Specifies the wait time (in seconds) after the action is executed.
Deay Before Execution Specifies the wait time (in seconds) before the action is executed.

Example

Let us consider an example of displaying content using the MessageBox component.

To use the MessageBox component:

  1. In the Toolbox, expand General.
  2. Expand the MessageBox component, drag Show component and drop it in the Design surface.
  3. Double-click the Messagebox to enter the content the user wishes to display in the messagebox.

  4. The user can also enter new data by overriding the existing data.

  5. To override the existing data:

    • Right-click the required Data In port.
    • Click Override and change the data source.

    Note

    To learn more about overriding the data source of the data port, refer the Override section.

  6. Connect the control ports of all components.

    Note

    If the user wishes to display the output of another component with the help of message box such as the output of the Variable component or the Expression component, they must connect the Data Out port of that component to the Data In port of the Message Box component.

  7. In the toolbar, click Run.
    The text in the MessageBox component is displayed.
