Window Connector

The Window Connector component allows user to perform desktop application operations.

Configure

Note

Go to plugin Manager and Install Window Connector.
For more information refer to the Plugin Manager Section.

Access

Once the connector is added to a project, the same can be accessed by clicking the Connectors Section in the component’s explorer.

To access the Window Connector

1.In the Toolbox expand Connectors

2.Drag the Windows Connector and drop it under Global objects.

3.Expand Global Objects.

4.Right-Click on the Window Connector under the Global Objects & Click on Configure.

5.User can view the Configuration window of the window connector.

6.Click on the refresh Screenshot icon in window connector.

7.After that click on Dropdown box, all active windows-based applications on the desktop will appear in the dropdown. Select the relevant application for the automation and click on ADD WINDOW.

8.Click the Title (TestApp) which is added in window.

9.Right-click on added window (TestApp) and click on Refresh.

  • Refresh: Allows user to refresh the Window.

  • Focus: Allows user to Focus the added window.

  • Add Element: Allows user to add the Element.

  • Delete: Allows user to delete the added Window

10.Right click on the added window (TestApp) & Click on Add Element.

11.The windows connecter will allow a user to focus and select a specific element of field on which action has to be performed. Hold the Ctrl key and name the element ( for example : First name, Last Name, date etc.) and click on Screenshot icon to save the action.

12.Then add the Element on particular text-box or on another element and provide the name.

13.Element is added under TestApp Form. Right-click on the element and click on Refresh.

  • Refresh: Allows User to refresh the (TestApp) Window.

  • Delete: Allows User to Delete the added Element.

Locator Description
Id (Identifier) An Identifier is a name used to identify the added element behavior and function or any other user defined item.
Name User can use the Name property.
Type User can use Element type.
path User can use a defined path to select match rules.
CustomPath User can use a custom path to select match rules.

14.User should expand the Global Object to view the Added desktop application (TestApp), Double-click on the added window (TestApp) then under object explorer all options are displayed.

15.Expand the added window (TestApp) to view additional election made while configuring the element, double-click on added Element (Name) to populate all available methods under the object explorer.

16.Each method from the list can be dragged and dropped on to the design surface.

Allow users to get the fields of the added element.

Click the applicable checkbox and click on Ok. Output field will be added to the component.

Allow users to count number of instances which is active.

Allow user to pass the keys like Ctrl+S, Home, End, Page Up etc.

Input: Keys, ClearExistingValue, TypeDelay (Delay between each key).

SetFields

Allow user to perform actions on different elements like Input textbox, Drop down, Button, CheckBox.

WaitForCreate

Allows users to infuse custom delay for certain applications to load completely before execution.
