GetApplicationCredential

The GetApplicationCredential component enables the user to extract the value of the existing Application's credentials, from Orchestrator using unique app name. Before using the GetApplicationCredential component, user must establish a connection to the Orchestrator using the SetConfig component.

Ports

The GetApplicationCredential component exposes the Control In, Control Out, Data In, and Data Out ports by default.

Port Description
Control In Must be connected to the Control Out port of one or more components.
Control Out Must be connected to the Control In port of any other component.
Data In The GetApplicationCredential component exposes the following Data Inputs:

AppName: Specifies the unique Application name of the existing application, from which user wants to extract the application decrypted credentials.

Datatype should be String.
Data Out The GetApplicationCredential component exposes the following Data Outputs:

UserName: Return the value of Username of the specified application with String datatype.

Password: Return the value of Password of the specified application with SecureString datatype.

Properties

For GetApplicationCredential component - User can edit the following properties, in the properties window.

Property Description
Delay After Execution Specifies the wait time (in seconds) after the action is executed.
Delay Before Execution Specifies the wait time (in seconds) before the action is executed.
Enable Timeout Allows users to enable timeout for the component
Timeout Allows users to define a timeout for the component

Note

To search for a specific property user can use the filter available in the properties window.

Example

Let us consider an example of the GetApplicationCredential component.

To get the credentials of the application:

  1. In the Toolbox, expand Orchestrator and then expand Common.

  2. Drag the SetConfig component and drop it on the design surface.

  3. In the Toolbox, expand Orchestrator and then expand CREDENTIALS.

  4. Drag the GetApplicationCredential component and drop it on the design surface.

  5. Enter the URL, RoboID and ProcessID inside the SetConfig component.

  6. Enter Unique AppName of ApplicationCredential, in AppName Data In port of GetApplicationCredential component.

    Note

    To enable display of the returned value, you can add a MessageBox component to the activity.

  7. To add the MessageBox component:

    a. In the Toolbox, expand General Category.

    b. Expand the MessageBox component, drag the Show component and drop it on design surface.

  8. Connect all control ports and data ports in the activity.

  9. In the toolbar, click Run.
